Keeping Your Energy Up

We have all experienced the fatigue that goes along with the grind of life. Many people feel there is not much you can do when you feel tired, they just get deflated, even more undetermined and sometimes even depressed. Often you can feel like you have the potential to do great things with your time but there’s just not enough positive energy in your body to pick you up. Well all of this is true if your not working to keep maximum energy flowing into your body. When you are energized you feel healthier, happier and more alive.

Here are some tips to keep the energy up:

Get Enough Sleep - This one is rather obvious, but if you don’t get enough sleep you won’t have enough energy to get through the day.Sleep is also great for learning and studying as your short term memories convert into long term memories as you sleep.

Build A Sleep Routine - The easiest way to build a solid sleep routine is to always wake up at the same time. Set an alarm and eventually your inner clock will do it automatically. If you make this time rather early you will find yourself more productive and happier. You will also be able to judge when your tired at night and how much sleep your body needs. The list of benefits is a long one.

Nap - A twenty minute nap in the afternoon is a proven way to refill that energy lost in the morning. For me any more than twenty minutes and I start to get groggy, but everyone’s different.

Stimulants Are A No No - Many people remedy the problem of low energy with various pick me up substances such as coffee and energy drinks…etc. The problem with this approach is that there is always a much bigger drop after the pick me up and you end up crashing and crashing hard. What you want to develop is consistent energy.

Drink Water - Drink lots and lots and lots of water. Not to much. But lots.

Meals - Have smaller meals more often. To keep up your energy, having 6 smaller nutritious meals in a day is much better then having 3 large meals as your body will digest them easier and you will be nice and light on your toes.

The Diet - Devise yourself a diet that maximizes your energy, there are many articles on the internet about this, some more helpful then others and there is a lot of bad information too. Your best bet would be to go see a nutritionist or someone of the sort to help you.

Have Less- If you lower the amount of clutter in your life you will automatically feel better and more energized. A good energy flow  is created by having less objects around you and organizing yourself. Read this article “How To Live Happier With Less In Your Life” for more inspiration.

Meditate - Meditating is something that recharges your mental and physical batteries by putting you into a place of no stress or discomfort. It also brings you out of the past and into the present, something we all need to do.

Get Inspired - The last tip I will give you is that feeling truly inspired about what your doing in your day will magically boost up your energy levels. The more you enjoy something the more you are willing to give of yourself to do it, this lowers stress and you won’t get as mentally tired.

Any Suggestions? Comment.
